Surprises.

I love surprises. We were very surprised to see eggplants actually growing on their bushes! I am really shocked that they made it this far considering insects have been feasting on these two plants since Day 1 of our planting them into the ground. But, hey, we'll take it! And once we have them, we will figure out how to cook them!

And there are so many bell peppers now on their bushes... just waiting for them to turn RED since that is what the labels said when I bought them!

And I am SUPER UBER excited that my peas have pods growing now! Hubby is in shock at how many pea pods there are... Yes, we are going to have a lot, but I LOVE peas so that is why I planted three LONG rows of them!!

Can you see the Pods?

And there are so many pole beans now too... just not sure a) when are they actually ready to pick and b) how are we going to get to them all since we planted the three rows of them WAY close together!! Their runners have tangled all up into each other forming one large congested maze of vines. It should be really interesting to say the least...

And so far so good on the corn stalks still standing... They seem to be taking back off and growing their tassels. As you can see Hubby is almost covered up by them in height! Fingers crossed they make it through any more pounding thunder storms that may pass through.

Today's bountiful harvest... they seem to be getting bigger by the day. Fresh corn (from farmer friend in town's garden) plus steamed squash and zucchini out of our garden tonight for supper. Yummy!
