Back in the Saddle Again...

We have decided to crank this blog back up.... SLOWLY. It's the least we can do to show our friends and family what's going on around the farm... Now that we have been in our new home almost 8 months (WOW!), we are focused on other stuff. So I will start off the blog again with monthly posts of photos of what we are up to 'round here. I will go back a couple of months so you can see all of our preparation efforts for the summer growing season!! Glad to be back in the saddle again...

We've Come A Long Way, Baby.

It's hard to believe that we have been living in our new home for over 6 weeks now! Yep, you read that right... SIX weeks! 10-10-14 was the long-awaited moving day... And even though the movers were only here for a few short hours that day moving the "big furniture", it felt like it took days to get all of our stuff to/into the new house. Moving is so darn tiring and having only moved here to this town just two and half years ago, this move seemed all too soon! Looking back, I am so glad it is over and I hope I never have to move again in this lifetime. Here are the final progress photos before the big move:

The hardwood man finally showed up to sand and stain the hardwood flooring...The Slogan on their truck always amuses... But, if you only know how hard it was to get this guy out to do his work, even the slogan was not funny enough to make us laugh.

And then the appliance man showed up.

My dream kitchen = Happiness!

And what a view from the cooktop!

Hubby's grilling hood was installed.

Carpet was finally installed at 6:00pm the night before moving day. Talk about panic!!

First breakfast on the new cooktop!!

Installing the 4-sided suspended track lighting system from the high Great Room ceiling over the kitchen.

We have ordered one new piece of furniture for the new house... I have always wanted a "chair-and-a-half" and I see someone else likes it too!

The landscaping company finally arrived in early November!

New grass!

El Supervisor.

Life is much different now... Satellite TV has been hooked up and we enjoy nightly reruns of my favorite show "Castle" again... And of course, we are still unpacking.

House Building Continued.

We are finally on the home stretch at this point in the house building project... It's been a few weeks (almost 6 weeks to be exact!) since I last posted any progress photos. But, I think we have enough now to show some actual progress. Of course, there is always a whole lotta little stuff happening along the way... but, it is hard to photograph it and show you all just how much work/planning actually goes into building your own home!

Plumbing faucets, shower heads, etc. were installed mid-to-late August.

Great Room transom windows being installed.

Screened porch ceiling fans.

Kitchen tile back splash!

It's already starting... redneck parking!
